*  21-24 June 2012: BCI-ABS 2012: Visions of the American West will be held at the Denver Marriott Tech Center in Denver, CO, USA. This will be BCI’s 50th anniversary. Featuring Marc Noelanders, Dan Robinson and Ryan Neil along with Lindsay Bebb, Chiara Padrini, Larry Jackel, Harold Sasaki, John Kirby and Young Choe. *  14-23 September 2012: 10th Crespi Cup in Milan, Italy featuring penjing masters, Huang Jiu Wei and Liu Chuan Gang of China and Takeo Kawabe of Japan who specializes in driftwood. *  17-23 September 2012: Vacation and Suiseki by Chiara Padrini features a lecture on stone appreciation at Crespi followed by a stone collecting field trip to the Ligurian Alps and in Sicily. *November 2012: Shuga-ten (秋雅展) is an annual exhibition held at Ueno Green Club in Tokyo (上野グリーンクラブ, Tel: 03-5685-5656) (3-min. walk from Nezu Station on subway Chiyoda Line) by AJSBA (All Japan Shohin-Bonsai Association, 全日本小品 盆栽協会, Tel: 075-691-5488). You can also buy bonsai at the sales corner. Admission: ¥600.

 

*November 2012: 33rd Taikan-ten (日本盆栽大観展), is the biggest annual bonsai exposition in the Kansai (west Japan) area held at Miyako-Messe in Kyoto (京都市勧業館みやこめっせ). 8 minute walk from Higashiyama Sta. on subway Tozai Line or 15 min. by bus from JR Kyoto Station to Kyoto Kaikan-mae Bus Stop. Vendors. Admission: ¥800.
